Presentation > Mission

This corporation has a mission to mobilise and channel national savings and all other  financial resources towards the financing economic and social investment operations in the industrial, agricultural, commercial and financial sectors, as well as in the services, and hotel sub-sectors, notably through :
  • Setting up projects;

  • Carrying out studies and financial transactions aimed at promoting the economic and social development of the country;

  • Acquiring or buying shares in companies;

  • Negotiating debentures, bonds and other negotiable instruments;

  • Granting loans or providing backing to companies in which it owns equity in accordance with its internal rules and regulations;

  • Conducting studies, evaluating projects and managing investment operations on behalf of the State, public institutions and local public entities;

  • Providing technical assistance to third parties for a consideration.

 In this respect and in keeping with its new Business Plan, the SNI has focused its activities on high yield productive investment operations in all economic sectors, both national and international.
Since its inception in 1964 the SNI has, in support of Government's industrialisation policy, contributed significantly to the promotion of large scale investment in all sectors of the economy by issuing development bonds and providing adequate financing. These were loans from banks and financial institutions to finance implementation of Government’s productive investment policy.

The SNI has thus participated in the setting up of some one hundred enterprises, some of which today the real engines of growth for the national economy.  These were set up as part of Government's strategy which evolved from creating import substituting industries to emphasis on processing local raw materials. The setting up of enterprises throughout the national territory has helped to boost development in all regions of the country, create job opportunities and distribute income to Cameroonians of all walks of life.
