This sub-sector comprised 4 (four) companies operating normally:
ALUCAM, SOCATRAL,
ALUBASSA and SOCAVER.
ALUBASSA andSOCAVER
both supply high quality products to the local market, which
enables them to hold out despite the presence of cheap imports
that fall short of the minimum quality standards required.
This sub-sector’s trade performance witnessed a slight
decline in 2004 due to the reconstruction of one of
SOCAVER’s furnaces.
The good performance of ALUCAM,
which is locomotive of this sector, cushioned the decline
in the turnover.
