SODEPA , the lone company in this sub-sector, made a turnover exclusive of taxes of 1,096 millions CFA F in 2004 compared to 969 millions CFA F in 2003, recording a net increase of 13.11 %.

SODEPA supplies the local market with high quality beef and also produces agricultural seeds for animal breeding, which it supplies to small-scale breeders.

The company operates a significant number of well equipped slaughterhouses, cold-storage warehouses and packaging plants over the entire national territory.
